Using Social Media for Genealogical Research
with Eleanor Brinsko

Our speaker, Eleanor Brinsko, Vice President of DCAGS, will present on how to use social media for genealogical research.

Facebook isn’t just about seeing your friends’ dogs and grandkids doing funny things, or just about political rants, or just about what somebody from high school had for lunch that day. Facebook, along with other social media websites, can be an incredibly helpful research tool, informational tool, and connecting tool.

Eleanor will describe how she was able to create an in-person family reunion with about a hundred of cousins she had not met before all because she created a Facebook group for that family.
